1920's photo

Blatantly copying others who have posted old pictures or another found treasure? How about both!

This a copy (of a copy) of a hand tinted photograph of my maternal grandmother circa 1928. I know it was taken before she was married in 1931.

I love the red and gold highlights in her hair. LOL Her hair was a fairly dark brown. I wish I had thought to ask her what color the dress really was. I don't think she would have ever worn green or yellow, but I've been known to be wrong. ;)

The wave in her hair? Natural. All she had to do to style her hair was wet it, comb it the way she wanted it, and let it dry. (Did I inherit her hair? Sadly, no.)

I like this photo. I have some old photos of Redd's mom & dad. I think I'll post them for my 365 photos.

What a pretty lady! Are you sure that you didn't inherit those hair genes? Your hair is a wonderful color and there's a nice wave in it, too.

What a confident, beautiful young woman. Wish we could see more of the dress!

Beautiful woman! I know you treasure this picture. I have been working with my cousin making a book of our Thompson family. She has some of the most wonderful pictures of my great grandparents and their children. Thanks for sharing the picture.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I was trying to send each of you a thank you, but got completely confused as to who I had sent one and who I didn't.

Vee - Thank you. My great-grandmother, my grandpa, and his sister were the redheads. No, I didn't inherit the hair from Grandma. That wave was what was left of a perm.

Shay - Grandma was a confident young woman. She had to quit school at age 14 (10th grade!), but she never stopped learning. She taught herself to type and worked in an office until she was 25. Then later after the Depression lifted she worked outside the home again. She was a very modern woman.
