1959?

Another "oldie" - sort of for Aunt Amelia :)

Three generations: My grandmother (horrible picture!) at the sink, my mom (she'd been chopping onions), and I (on the chair). The picture is stamp dated April 1959, but it could have been taken earlier. Since there is a baby bottle on the counter, it had to be after July 1957.

I don't remember *not* helping with the dishes. :)

What a wonderful photograph. Sadly, all our pictures were destroyed in a father, and I am only left with one photo of myself and my dad.

Precious!!!

All of you.

And since there's a baby bottle on the counter, your Mother had to have a baby around. And look at how TINY SHE IS!!!

Mmmm, yeah, I went right back to my usual self, after 3 full pregnancies. 'Twas my last one, which left me with a few pounds. And starving those off, led to my yo-yo-weight, ever since. Bleahhhh...

Thank you for the glimpses into the past!!!

I love the picture. In 1959 I had been married 5 years and had 2 children. Boy that seems so long ago. Have a great day. Madeline

If this picture is from April 1959 (or even from fall 1958), I was almost five years old and there were two babies under two years old in the house!

OT but you said in my comments, that you don't have any idea how to change the look of your blog...........

Wellllllllllllllllll... :-)

--Look at the top right of your Blog. Find CUSTOMIZE and click on it.
--Look toward left top of new page and look for PICK NEW TEMPLATE and click on it.
--Up come a bunch of Templates, to choose from.
--If you want to see what a different one will look like, on your Blog, click on PREVIEW TEMPLATE, under the different Template. [Remember, you change the colors, after picking a Template. The Orange and Blue print and etc, which show up... You can change later]

--Myself, I like MINIMA Template. It lets me do what I want to do, with Free Backgrounds or not. With different pics in my Header, etc.

--After you pick a diff Template [maybe Minima?] you again click on CUSTOMIZE, up at top right of blog page.
--On upper left of new page, look for FONT AND COLORS, and click on it.
--Take some time and HAVE FUN!!! :-) You can change colors of just about everything on your blog! It's so much fun!!!

--If you want to play with free Backgrounds, I have click-able lists of sites to give you. I myself like The Background Fairy because she offers simple Backgrounds. I don't like the awfully fussssssssy, busy, wild Backgrounds myself. But a lot of gals do. It's totally individual.

--Pics to put in your Header? I have click-able links for that too! ....... And I always give a link to every pic I use in my blog. So even that is a source. If anyone wants to use it. But I'll be glad to give you, the links to the Pic Sites I love. There are enough for everyone!!! :-)

There! Now you can stay with the same look you have, if you wish. But you can't say you don't know how to change it. -gigggles-

And of course, got a question? Ask.

How old were you in that picture? I think I've coddled my children - my son is 5 and I've never had him help out like that, and my stepdaughter, 13 next week, only does occasional housework. I think your picture has just inspired me -there may be some changes coming to my household soon. (Rubs hands together evilly.)

Hi!

Thanks for visiting my blog - I'm sure enjoying yours, I love the old pictures and reminiscing, sound like home. I don't know about you, but Idaho has been cold where I am, I'm anxiously awaiting Spring. See ya later - I'll definitely be back.
