Warranty Repairs

This is why most repair people that I've dealt with hate to do warranty jobs. Look closely at the postage stamp and other dates. I think we went in the hole on this job.

Because my husband sometimes does warranty work and gets paid very little, I've been asking other repair people about their experiences. My washing machine quit while under warranty so when the repair man came, I asked him what he was going to get paid. (I explained why I was asking.) This was when gas was over $4.00 a gallon. He said that he provided his own vehicle and gasoline and was going to get paid $35.00 for driving 160 miles round trip to do a job that was going to take at least an hour and a half. And we wonder why repairmen doing warranty jobs are often surly.

I hadn't thought of that before. What a hassle for the repairman!
